World Book Day World Book Day 2022 will be celebrated next week on Thursday 3rd March. This year’s theme follows the message 'You Are a Reader'. At White Cliffs, teachers have chosen a focus author or genre of story for the children to dress up in. We have a few examples below. Early Years - Fairy tale characters Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, The Gingerbread Man, Goldilocks and the Three Bears Key Stage One- Julia Donaldson characters The Gruffalo, Superworm, The Highway Rat, Room on a Broom, Stick Man, Zog Key Stage Two- Roald Dahl characters George’s Marvellous Medicine, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The School Council have been busy this week planting the first batch of trees. They have started to create our orchard area by planting apple, pear and plum trees, as well as making a start on the hedgerow near the garden on the field. Watch this space for further developments as more trees are delivered!

This term, Year 6 have been learning about the heart and the circulatory system. One of their favourite lessons was when they were able to dissect a pig's heart. Although some of them were a little wary at the beginning, by the end of the lesson, most of the children were able to join in and locate the different parts of the heart that they had learnt about in their Science lessons.
